Canadian Mortgage links of the week presented by "the goods"

If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding sales and finance career, there is a great opportunity for growth in becoming a mortgage associate in Alberta.  The Canadian mortgage brokerage industry is a tremendous opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients, lenders, and fellow associates in a fast-paced and constantly changing business environment.  Mortgage Brokers are gaining in recognition and popularity with all generations of borrowers and real estate investors across Canada.

What is so appealing about becoming a mortgage associate in Alberta?

This career path offers an excellent work-life balance and solid career satisfaction as you help people meet their financial goals.  Along with this tremendous personal satisfaction comes the potential to earn strong compensation for your efforts with no cap on your income.  Becoming a mortgage associate in Alberta is a career that allows you to be your own boss as you are self-employed but at the same time have the advantage of a team atmosphere and support to help ensure your success.

First and foremost, the most important aspect of becoming a mortgage associate in Alberta is that we all require licenses to operate in this industry.

“What does it take to get my license to work as a mortgage associate in Alberta?”

Simply put, today’s licensing process looks like this (please click the hyperlinks to learn more):

1)     Determine your eligibility to enrol

2)     Pay your fees

3)     Enrol in the course

… and by the time that you’re done the two courses, you’re eligible to be licensed at the brokerage of your choice.

The courses focus primarily on instilling the ‘foundation’ of the industry from a regulatory, legal and compliance perspective… they also focus on manual mathematical competency for mortgage number-crunching.

In actual practice, your computer, and smartphone apps will do the number-crunching for you.   The current licensing program offers little about teaching business building, marketing and sales techniques – this is a major point of frustration for many that have completed the course.  This is absolutely 100% the ‘raison d’être’ for our in-house associate development programs here Trimor – we’re here to help you establish yourself with a unique position in the Calgary market and help ensure your focused, planned success in the mortgage industry.
